Rosalinda Lyrics and Translation
Rosalinda's name means "beautiful rose" or "lovely rose"
I LOVE this name, I always think that I might name my 'future daughter' Rosalinda if she looks anything like Thalia.

Cuando se tiene una razon [When one has a reason]
Para amar intensamente [to love intensely]
Se descubre de repente [one suddenly finds]
Que por ti late más fuerte el corazon [that for you, the heart beats harder]

Ay, cuando nos llama la pasion [Ay, when passion calls us]
Nos hayamos frente a frente [we find ourselves forehead to forehead]
Para amarnos locamente [To love each other wildly]
Y entregarnos sin reservas al amor [and give ourselves to love, without holding back (literally: without reserve)]

Paloma meaning Dove

Ay amor, quedate muy dentro [Oh love, stay within me]
Aqui está tu Rosalinda para vivir en tus sueños [Your Rosalinda is here to live in your dreams]
Ay amor, que me estoy muriendo [Oh love, I'm dying]
Es esta tu Rosalinda que solo quiere tus besos [It's this one, your Beautiful Rose, who wants only your kisses]

Paloma meaning Dove

Rosalinda, Rosalinda
Rosalinda, Rosalinda

Ay, beso a beso, piel a piel [Ay, kiss to kiss, skin to skin]
Me enamoras suavemente [You make me fall in love softly]
Me devoras lentamente [You devour me slowly]
Desatando los secretos del placer [Freeing the secrets of pleasure]

Paloma meaning Dove

Solo tu sabes muy bien [Only you know well]
Embriagarme de locura [How to make me crazy drunk]
Me seduces, me torturas [You seduce me, you torture me]
Con el roce de tus labios como miel [With the chafing of your lips like honey]

En tus ojos tengo una razon para soñar [In your eyes I have reason to dream]
Es una eternidad [It's an eternity]
Sintiendo como el tiempo [Feeling like time]
Ya no existe junto a ti [just doesn't exist near you]
Me siento tan feliz [I feel so happy]
Cuando me llevas en tus brazos [When you take me in your arms]
A la libertad [To freedom]

Ay, cuando nos llama la pasion [Ay, when passion calls us]
Nos hayamos frente a frente [We find ourselves forehead to forehead...]
Para amarnos locamente [To love each other wildly]
Y entregarnos sin reservas al amor [and give ourselves to love, without reserve]

Ay amor, ay amor [Oh love, oh love]
Aqui esta tu Rosalinda para vivir en tus sueños [Your Beautiful Rose is here to live in your dreams]
Es la locura que me tortura [It's the crazyness that tortures me]
Porque te llevo muy dentro [Because I have you (love) so deep within me]

Ay amor, ay amor
Es esta tu Rosalinda que solo quiere tus besos [It's this one, your Beautiful Rose, who wants only your kisses]
Si el amor me ha dado una razon [If love has given me a reason]
Es para entregarte el corazon [It's to surrender my heart to you]
Y te digo... [And I tell you...]

Ay amor, ay amor [Oh love, oh love]
Aqui esta tu Rosalinda para vivir en tus sueños [Your Beautiful Rose is here to live in your dreams]
Toma mi alma, bebe mi cuerpo [Take my soul, drink my body]
Que por tus besos me estoy muriendo, ay [Because of your kisses, I'm dying, ay]

Ay amor, ay amor [
Oh love, oh love]
Es esta tu Rosalinda [This is your Rosalinda]
Que solo quiere tus besos [who only wants your kisses]

Rosalinda, Rosalinda

Rosalinda, ay amor
[Oh love]
Ay amor [Oh love]

Plot Summary:
Rosalinda is a pretty girl who sells flowers and decorates a fancy restaurant with them. One day, she meets Fernando José, a man of high social status. He plays the piano at the restaurant. They eventually fall in love, get married, and have a child named Erika, but his stepmother Valeria desires to split the happy couple up, and she has the perfect way of doing so.

Rosalinda's real mother, Soledad, served a 20-year prison sentence for the murder of Fernando José's real father. She was innocent, but took the blame. After finding out this horrible news, Fernando José abandons Rosalinda and her daughter.

Soledad Romero & José Fernando Altamirano del Castillo in his office, she used to work as a secretary and that's how she met Alfredo.
José Fernando kidnapping Soledad because he wants her.

Soledad Romero & Alfredo del Castillo after he shot his brother-in-law is terrified from his sister.
José Fernando Killed by Alfredo after trying to rape Soledad,
which in secret is
Alfredo's wife.
Soledad decided to take the blame for the killing to save her husband.
Soledad is sentenced for 20 years of prison.
Soledad discovers she's pregnant and gives birth to a beautiful girl she names Rosalinda.
Soledad decides to give Rosalinda up to her sister when her husband was far away in America, because she doesn't want to rise her in prison.

Valeria kidnaps Erika. Rosalinda goes into a depression and eventually loses her mind. She is locked up in a mental hospital. One night, the mental hospital catches fire and burns down. Rosalinda fortunately manages to escape. However, her loved ones are convinced she is dead. Suffering from a major case of amnesia, she is forced to become a thief by an old man who takes her in.

Rosalinda works at a flower shop with Florentino Rosas.
I don't remember this episode well, but Rosalinda seems angry with this woman.

Rosalinda with Uncle Florentino.

Rosalinda with her cousins, but she was raised as their sister. Lucía Pérez Romero and Bito.

Fedra Pérez Romero is also Rosalinda's cousin but she is so jealous from her, and when she thinks Rosalinda dies in fire she marries Fernando Jose.

Javier Pérez wife, and Soledad's sister get too ill and die, before she dies, she tells her husband that one of their children isn't his.
Javier thinks his wife cheated on him, and he starts hating his own children.
After 20 years, Soledad is finally free, she goes to her sister's house, only to find her dead, with three grieving children and a mad husband. She tells him the truth with a twist.
Rosalinda meets Fernando José and they fall in love madly, when Soledad discovers that Rosalinda's boyfriend is none other than Valeria's son, she tries to stand in the way of their love.

Valeria del Castillo and Veronica del Castillo de Altamirano story is exactly like Rosalinda and Fedra's story. They were cousins, but her cousin cheated with her husband and stole him from her, more to the point they [the husband and Valeria] decided to take her baby boy and her reputation, creating a false crime and trap her in it forever.

The difference between the two stories, is that Fernando José actually loves Rosalinda and doesn't want to let her go, he never wanted Fedra, but he thought that his child, Erica needs a mother.

When Palom. which is actually Rosalinda appears in his life, he thinks destiny had mercy and he returned someone like his love again.

After the accident when Fernando José discovers that they are the same person and that Fedra and Alex knew the whole time, his affections and need for Fedra vanishes, replaced by harsh anger and contempt.

Now all Fernando José wants is his wife back. But everyone seems to stand in the way of their love.

Valeria del Castillo asks Fernando José to stop seeing that girl.
And though their love is so strong, young and pure, unhappiness follows them.
when Rosalinda knows her family's plan of sending her away, she and Fernando José elope, get married quickly and head for a 15 days honeymoon.
Fernando José's mother is not happy with the match, and that's before she even knows that Rosalinda is actually Soledad's daughter.
Not knowing what awaits them on their return, the couple seal their love with kisses and caress.

She meets Alejandro "Alex" Dorantes while trying to steal from his house. Alex cleans her up and she takes on the identity of Paloma Dorantes and becomes a singer. She falls in love with Alex, the talent agent who makes her famous.

When Rosalinda ran from the burning mental institution, a bad man, who is a thief, takes her to use her. Beside all her past grieves, Rosalinda lost her memories as well.

Her friend in the ghetto.

Alex finding Rosalinda and trying to fill her and make her sane again, she reached him soulless, his plan was to recreate her though he knew who she was originally.

Alex fell in love with Rosalinda, and wanted Fernando José to be out of the picture forever, so he and Fedra made an alliance to keep them apart.
Meanwhile, Fernando José marries Rosalinda's cousin, Fedra. Rosalinda's life with Alex seems to be going well. However, things just don't seem to be totally right.

The thief turned out to be one of Valeria's nightmare, a man who raped her years ago, and she had a child she hated from him. She treats her daughter as a shameful secret and then as her maid, refusing to acknowledge that she is her mother.

Valeria kills him at the end and Beto her lover and her daughter's husband decide to work together to ilmenite all her enemies, including Florentino and Bertha.
One night, Rosalinda and Alex attend one of Fernando Jose's concerts. He plays a song which happens to be the first one he played the day they met. This seems to trigger Rosalinda's memory of her past. Overwhelmed by these memories, Rosalinda scurries out of the concert hall and gets hit by a car.

Fedra refuses to let Rosalinda and Fernando José have their happy ending, so she sleeps with her ex-boyfriend who is now her sister's husband, because she told Fernando José that she is pregnant to keep him.

Fernando José discovered that his real mom isn't dead, and he discovers that Valeria destroyed her to take everything she held dear, including him.

Aníbal tells Lucía the truth, that he had an affair with her sister and that Fedra is having his baby. Lucía's heart is broken because she loves her husband so much, she leaves him, but after a lot of pleas she returns. When Fedra dies, Fernando José gives them her child, because Lucía can't have babies.

Before her brother dies, he tells Valeria, that he killed her husband, and that Soledad was actually his wife, and that her husband was trying to rape her.

Alex rushes her to the hospital. It is then that Rosalinda realizes that she is not Paloma, but Rosalinda. Now that Rosalinda has gained her memory back, she must go back and fight to gain her child back, her family, and Fernando Jose in the process.

Rosalinda returns home, and continues singing under her name, she prays to get her daughter back and to forget Fernando José, but Fernando José keeps returning begging her to start over. In the end she agrees but he discovers that Fedra is dying so he feels obliged to stay. Rosalinda's heart is so broken that she decides to marry Agustin Morales a man who was her fan and friend, who helped her get a shared custody to her daughter. She feels grateful to him but in her heart Fernando José will always be the one.
Rosalinda with the father who raised her Javier Pérez, ready to give her away to Agustin.

The four bridesmaids: Natalia, Abril, Lucia and uncle Florentino's daughter.
In the end Fernando José comes rushing in to stop the wedding, to his shock [and everyone else's] and sadness, Rosalinda says 'I do' but when Agustin sees her grief and everyone else, he lets her go, setting her free to marry the man she has always loved. Rosalinda and Fernando José tie the knots in the church inside Agustin's farm, and everyone is so happy [including me] by the [finally!!] happy ending.

Erika's Lullaby
One of my favorite songs through the series was Rosalinda's lullaby to her daughter Erika. You see, I don't speak Spanish/Mexican, but I tired writing and translating the song, as much accuracy as I could.

tú arme de mi niña [Carrying my little girl]
tú arme de mi cha [Carrying her]
tú arme de chikita [Carrying my girl]
de mi corazón [the piece of my heart]

tú arme de bonita [Carrying you my beauty]
tú arme de mi ya [Carrying you with me]
tú arme te mi niña [Carrying my baby girl]
de mi corazón [the piece of my heart]

Of course if someone knows the right words and translation, please tell me. Thanks.

video

I added the video so if anyone understands the words could tell me how to write them. And also for you to hear it as well.

You can also find 'Rosalinda' on DVD: http://www.amazon.com/Rosalinda-Thal%C3%ADa/dp/B000AM4PKE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323689385&sr=8-1

But be WARNED the DVD is abridged and all Thalia's songs are not in even the theme song. It's two DVDs back and front, with english subtitles.
